Hosted in its second year by Russell Simmons and Rev. Run, Hip Hop Honors became one of VH1’s biggest annual tentpole events. Honorees included Big Daddy Kane, Boyz n the Hood, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Ice-T, LL Cool J, The Notorious B.I.G. and Salt N Pepa. The site featured interactive artist bios and art created for the event by Kehinde Wiley.

Participation

  • Oversaw site design and development process
  • Managed project schedule and weekly status dashboard
  • Acted as primary liaison between content, design, development, mobile and tech teams
  • Met regularly with Viacom’s Project Management Office to relay issues for mitigation
  • Helped producing/creative direction team with zero-hour content creation and input
